This is an instrumental ep recorded during periodic breaks from touring with my friend’s band. I was also playing records at clubs under the moniker The Ghost of John Brown. I used several for these tracks as interludes or background breaks to do talk overs, such as “fellas remember to tip yr waitress, dollar wells until 11 and thanks for coming out, up next on the mainstage is Cokie “.

This ep is a collection of remixes I did for/of my friend Isabel’s solo project, Dizzy Spells Martian. I was just beginning to make music on the computer and hadn’t gotten to the level where I could even conceive of recording my own vocals. I was given the DSM CD by a friend and decided to make remixes of a few of the songs for the purpose of practicing my programming and wheedling Isabel into working with me on a project.

Born on this day: Ellas Otha Bates, better known as Bo Diddley. The man that many imitated, but never duplicated. He formed a band called The Hipsters in the 40s, so they you go. Bo Diddley was an actual hipster, in the literal sense. Not in the I shop at American Apparel, and I will gentrify the shit out of your neighborhood sense.

Doom and Gloom- You and Me Falconry (2004)
This is the second YMF ep. By this point I had not only been touring with one friend’s band but had begun sharing lead vocal duties with another. My friend Renee added inspired lyrics and vocals to one song Cadwch Yn Glir (The King and the Kitten) as did my friend Isabel on Emily and I (lyrics and vocals).
